Amenities

Decor throughout the Bursley Manor bedrooms is fresh, nautical, and designed with comfort in mind. Each is furnished with high-quality linens and towels, robes, shampoo, conditioner, soap, blow-dryers, mini-fridges and cable TV. The kitchens are fully stocked with dishes, cutlery and appliances. There are spice cabinets stocked with most common spices and some more rare. There are also some staples in the kitchen cabinets, left by previous guests, which following guests are welcome to use. Paper towels, bath tissue, and napkins are supplied, and there is a collection of paper dishware and plastic cutlery in the chest in front of the yellow sofa. There are three large Holz Hausen wood piles out back of the house, which guests are welcome to use in the fire pit, chiminea, wood stove, and the fireplace in the north-facing lounge in the Farmhouse. You are also welcome to take wood to Sandy Neck Beach Park for your own campfire – just visit the park entrance office at 5 p.m. for a permit.

Manor Grounds and Area

The Manor is set on an acre of lush lawn and gardens – flower, vegetable, and herb – on Route 6A, the beautiful and historic Old King’s Highway. Guests share the grounds and are welcome to harvest herbs and produce to complement meals on the property.

Outside, play badminton, cornhole, croquet, and horseshoes, sit and gaze out over the picturesque pond and barn across the road – once the dairy’s cow pond and horse stable, or hold a New England lobster feast on the patio picnic tables. Woods are to the west and south along Maple Street, and a tranquil marsh is just behind the manor’s large vegetable garden to the east.

West Barnstable is the perfect jumping-off point for all of Cape Cod’s many attractions. Two miles away are the beautiful sand dunes and pristine, six-mile beach of Sandy Neck Beach Park. Head to Barnstable Harbor for high speed whale-tour boats up to Stellwagen Bank, explore the bounty of thrift stores along Route 6A, or choose one of the many bike trails on the Cape. Bustling Hyannis is seven miles to the southeast; quaint and historic Sandwich is eight miles to the west, and tony Barnstable Village, is just five miles east. Whatever you love to do, the Bursley Manor is your perfect mid-Cape hub!
